Traineeships
A traineeship is a vocational pathway for new entrants to the maritime, fishing and seafood industries where a person is employed for either twelve or two years by an enterprise, combining on-the job learning with targeted off the job training to gain an accredited qualification at Certificate I, II or III level.
Traineeships that are available with the Australian Fisheries Academy include:
- Fishing Operations
- Aquaculture
- Post Harvest
The wide variety of electives within each qualification means that every qualification can be designed to meet the particular needs and interests of employers and trainees.
