Enrolment in AFA Courses
AFA offers a wide range of courses for all types of students. Some courses are designed for students wishing to join the fishing industry as a career or upgrade their current qualifications, while other courses are for the recreational fisher or members of the general public.
As the Australian Fisheries Academy offers maritime regulatory Certificate of Competency courses which lead to a qualification from the Transport & Distribution Maritime Training Package and the issuance of a commercial skipper or engineer qualification by a Maritime Authority if sea-time and other requirements are met, it is essential that all prospective students for these courses contact the relevant maritime authority to determine their eligibility for examination and to ensure ensure that all prerequisites and criteria are met.
