CERTIFICATE II IN TRANSPORT AND DISTRIBUTION (MARITIME OPERATIONS)
This qualification will assist students to fast track their maritime career in either marine engineering or as a deck officer. The units of competency completed during this course will gain credit toward a Coxswain or Marine Engine Driver 3 qualification, when students reach the age of 18 and have spent sufficient time at sea to undertake regulatory examinations.


INDUSTRY RELEVANCE
The current worldwide shortage of skilled seafarers makes this course particularly relevant to the maritime industry. It is expected that this course will prepare young and enthusiastic members of the community to enter the maritime industry with a range of employable skills and develop into industry leaders of the future.


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Numeracy and Literacy requirements for this course are equivalent to year eleven.


COURSE TIME COMMITMENTS
Course duration: 15 days at the Australian Maritime and Fisheries Academy followed by 5 days at sea on the tall ship One &All. Some out of hours study may be required.


COURSE FEES
If you undertake this course as part of a vocational education pathway through SACE there will be no fees for you to pay.

COURSE PRE-REQUISITES

Students must have satisfactorily completed Stage One of the Maritime Industry Pathway through SACE before they can be selected to undertake this course.


COURSE COMPLETION
On completion of this course you will receive a Certificate II in Transport & Distribution (Maritime Operations).


CONTRIBUTION TO SACE
Students who satisfactorily complete this course while undertaking SACE will gain between 50 and 75 SACE Credit Points.
