Certificate III in Transport & Distribution (Coastal Maritime Operations - Marine Engine Driver 2)
To be eligible for the Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 Certificate a student must:

be 18 years of age
-
have approved service on vessels of not less than 150kW propulsion power for:
- 12 months with no previous training or as a marine fitter;
- 6 months while holding a Marine Engine Driver Grade 3 certificate; or
- 3 months as a diesel mechanic, motor mechanic or refrigeration mechanic

have satisfactorily completed a Elements of Shipboard Safety (ESS) course

have met the medical standards required

have provided character and sobriety testimonials

paid the appropriate fee to the relevant maritime authority

- Elements of Shipboard Safety (Senior First Aid; Survival & Fire)
