Certificate III in Transport & Distribution (Coastal Maritime Operations - Marine Engine Driver 1)
The Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 certificate is the acceptable basic qualification for:
To be eligible for the Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 Certificate a student must:
- be 19 years of age
- have approved service on vessels of not less than 200kW propulsion power for:
- 24 months with no previous training or as a marine fitter;
- 15 months while holding a Marine Engine Driver Grade 3 certificate;
- 9 months while holding a Marine Engine Drive Grade 2 certificate; or
- 3 months as a diesel mechanic, motor mechanic or refrigeration mechanic
- have satisfactorily completed a Elements of Shipboard Safety course
- have met the medical standards required
- have provided character and sobriety testimonials
- paid the appropriate fee to the relevant maritime authority

- TDMMR6207A MED 1 Welding and Cutting:
- $185.00 For students who do not meet the recognition of prior learning (RPL) requirements
